The Drive is the device you plug your storage cells into in order to use them for network storage. It has 10 slots, each accepting a storage cell.
Cells can be pushed or pulled from the drive with standard item logistics (hoppers, AE2 busses, etc.). The drive can be rotated with a Certus Quartz Wrench.
Each storage cell in the drive has an LED indicator showing its state:
Color | Status |
---|---|
Green | Empty |
Blue | Contains some items |
Orange | Types full (no new types can be added) |
Red | Bytes full (no more items can be inserted) |
Black | No power, or drive has no channel |
Priorities can be set in the GUI by clicking the wrench icon in the top-right corner.
Behavior | Explanation |
---|---|
Insertion | Items enter highest priority storage first. If two storages have the same priority, the system prefers the one that already contains that item. Partitioned cells are treated as already containing the item in their group. |
Extraction | Items are removed starting from the lowest priority storage. |
This ensures higher priority storages fill first while lower priority storages empty first.
